Color
This method is used for the determination of color in water and wastewater. The standard range is 10 to 250 units although other ranges are applicable.
Summary
Samples are mixed with a phosphate buffer at pH 6.8. The absorbance of this solution is measured at 410 nm and is directly proportional to the color.
Limitations
Turbid samples will produce a positive bias even with slight turbidity. Samples may need to be centrifuged or filtered.
